C. S. Lewis once said that “Hardships often times prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny”. It is a Christian faith that carries the belief that is better to give than it is to receive. Dr. Arkeria Wright, a single mother of two, is a native of Atlanta, Ga. A graduate of Spelman College she continued her educational pursuit with earning her Masters of Arts in Teaching and Learning and PhD. Her lifelong dream is to found an academic program she calls Academics and the Arts, an art integrated program that inspires students to be academically and artistically driven.
Dr. Wright worked as a classroom teacher for 6 years in the Atlanta Public School System. She bared witness to children that were hungry. Children that did not have meals once leaving her care for the day. Children that could not focus academically due to impoverishment in their homes.

Children that fought daily living with the burden of homelessness, poverty, and lack of nourishment. For her teaching was more than just the information gathered from a textbook. Dr. Wright began to send food home with her students by keeping nonperishables in her cabinets. Dr. Wright then banned with Buckhead church mentors to provide food for students during the holiday breaks where they will be out of school for an extended amount of time. This passion to service those in need grew tremendously, Dr. Wright began to provide her service beyond the walls of the school. She began to deliver groceries to families and senior citizens in need.
After losing her job with Atlanta Public Schools, Dr. Wright decided she would not neglect her calling. “It is my ministry to love people in this way. I will never give up on making sure children are eating. That families are eating. That our elderly are eating. There should be no hunger! God is using me to minister to his people and I am just a willing vessel eager to do it.” God wanted greater works and greater ministry in me. I believe this is why he removed me from APS. This is the meaning behind our name Greater Giving Ministries”. Dr. Wright explains that in so many ways we give but it was now the season to give greater. Greater Giving Ministries, a nonprofit organization, aids in providing families with food and resources in their time of need. She inspires to operate a food pantry out of Union City were she currently resides. Her favorite song, “Greater Is Coming” by Jekalyn Carr inspires her each day that after the shaken and the pressing, the anointing will flow greatly. Hardships don’t last always! Now, 10 years later, WE Advocate, Inc. is here to aid children during this time until their greater comes. She believes that it can and it will. She believes that everyone can survive their storm with the option to recieve a greater love.
